On March 30, 1994, the tanker BAYNUNAH collided with the tanker SEKI off the coast of Fujairah (United Arab Emirates), causing the rupture of SEKI’s port-side cargo tank No. 1. Although the BAYNUNAH did not spill any oil as it was in ballast, the SEKI was carrying 293,000 tonnes of Iranian light crude oil, of which 16,000 tonnes were subsequently spilled into the Gulf of Oman.

Complete cleanup of beaches: sand, pebbles, rocks, and seawater
Mechanical cleaning of rocks and pebbles, followed by biotechnological treatment of sand for full rehabilitation of the area
